Welcome to the SSM EuroEpi 2026 Abstract Submission Form.
We invite submissions for oral presentations, poster presentations, and workshops in the areas of epidemiology, public health, health services research, health policy, sociology, economics, psychology, statistics, qualitative research and/or mixed methods research.
The deadline for abstract submission is 23:59 (GMT), Monday 2nd March
Please ensure that you have carefully read the following abstract submission instructions below before submitting your abstract via the link at the bottom of this page:
- Abstracts must be a maximum of 400 words (excluding the title). Tables, figures, and references are not permitted.
- Abstracts must be written in English.
- Abstracts must be structured into four sub-headings:
- Oral/poster presentation abstracts may choose any four of the following headings: background, setting, data, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion. Further guidance regarding submissions can be found here.
- Workshop abstracts must use the following four headings: Context and relevance, aims and learning objectives, structure, and facilitators. Further instructions regarding workshop submissions can be found here.
- Oral/poster presentation abstracts may choose any four of the following headings: background, setting, data, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion. Further guidance regarding submissions can be found here.
- Abstracts for oral/poster presentation must report original research that has not been published in print or online at the time of submission and has not been presented at a previous SSM conference
- Abstracts for oral/poster presentations must report results, it is not acceptable to say 'results will be presented'
- We discourage the use of categorized p-values (i.e. p<0.05 or p>0.05) and language referring to statistical significance. Please provide effect estimates and confidence intervals or exact p-values (unless p-values are small, e.g. p<0.001) and refrain from using the term 'significant'.
- During submission, you will be asked to indicate several general details about the abstract to help with allocating reviewers and organising the programme, these are:
- Whether the abstract describes applied research, methodological research, or a workshop. Further details regarding the expected content for each type of abstract are available here
- For oral/poster presentations submissions, whether you wish the abstract to be considered for an oral presentation, poster presentation, or both
- Whether the content of the abstract is broadly: quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.
- Up to three key words to describe the main topic areas (e.g. 'diabetes', 'social determinants of health', 'directed acyclic graphs')
All abstracts will be assessed for their scientific quality and relevance by up to four independent reviewers using these criteria . Abstracts that are accepted for oral/poster presentation will be published in a supplement of the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.
